British protein bar manufacturer Pulsin’ has invested in production equipment from Ulma Packaging to help it meet growing demand among retailers for its line of bars, powders and healthy treats.
Pulsin’ recently acquired a second Florida E flow wrapper from Ulma after moving into a new unit, having previously boosted its output with investment in wrapping equipment from the Spanish packaging machinery supplier. Both machines are being used to wrap thousands of Beond bars and Pulsin’ raw chocolate brownies and protein snacks every day.
The Florida flowrapper is a popular entry level horizontal form fill and seal machine, Ulma said. It has a touch screen operation with multi-product memory, which means that changeovers can be made quickly and simply at the press of a button. The machine also benefits from “no product – no bag” and “misplaced product detection” systems, as well as working with clear and printed film.
A spokesperson for Pulsin’ was quoted by Ulma as saying: “Ulma’s machines wrap all the bars we produce. The flow wrappers are incredibly quick and efficient, allowing us to keep up with bar production as they come off the line.”
