Quaker Oats has introduced a new line of gluten-free oatmeal in the US market.
New Quaker gluten-free oatmeal will be available as Quaker Quick one-minute standard oats in an 18oz canister, and Quaker instant oatmeal in single-serve pouches in two different flavours: original, and maple and brown sugar. Clearly labelled as gluten-free, the delicious and nutrition oats will help consumers who are intolerant to gluten to still get the fibre to fill them up and whole grains to support their heart health – as well as the great taste of traditional Quaker Oats.
The PepsiCo-owned brand said that, while oats are naturally gluten-free, stray wheat, rye, barley and spelt may be introduced during the farming, storing and transportation of the regular product Quaker has used its expertise to remove stray grains to deliver high-quality oats that meet FDA standards for gluten free.
Quaker Foods senior vice-president Becky Frankiewicz said: “At Quaker, we’re always striving to deliver products that meet families’ evolving needs. Requests for gluten free oats have been among the top inquiries from our consumers for the past several years.
“Our expert millers are the best and most passionate in the business, and they’ve taken the time and extreme care to develop great-tasting, gluten free offerings in which consumers can be confident.”
The new gluten-free oats will be available across the US from this month.
