Sial was celebrating its 50th anniversary at the spectacular global food and drink marketplace in Paris this October. Royal Crown Cola International (RCCI) was celebrating an anniversary at the show, too.
In 2015, Royal Crown, the flagship brand, will be 110 years old and was kicking off a year of festivities at the Sial show with a fabulous 50s-style diner stand and music throughout the show.
Beverage Innovation managing editor Claire Phoenix interviews RC Cola vice president Edmund O’Keeffe and Moshy Cohen, vice president, marketing at Royal Crown Cola International about the company’s recent international expansion and innovative marketing strategy.
Visitors to the company’s stand were able to taste the legendary RC Cola, and the company’s new drinks, RC Cola Neo made with the natural sweetener Stevia and Mulberry Farms juice drinks. Made using a mix of stevia and natural cane sugar, RC Cola Neo is made with natural flavours, natural sweeteners and natural caffeine and provides uncompromised cola taste with only half the calories of regular cola.
RC Cola was originally launched in 1905 by Claud Hatcher in Columbus, Georgia, US and consumers first knew RC Cola as Chero-Cola. In 1934, Chero-Cola was reformulated and re-released as Royal Crown. The first company to introduce a low calorie diet cola ‘Diet Rite’ and the aluminium beverage can RC Cola has always been early to innovate.
