A German beverage start-up has launched an organic and vegan juice drink, packaged in 250ml slimline cans from can maker Rexam.
Acáo is described as a “smart drink” and uses natural ingredients to offer consumers a healthier alternative to existing energy drink offerings. It is made from a blend of organic fruit juices, replacing additives with infusions of guarana berries for a natural stimulant.
Rexam has produced the brand’s slimline cans to exploit the burgeoning on-the-go market and appeal to the drink’s target audience of health-conscious consumers with a vested interest in wellbeing. The elegant cans use Rexam’s HD printing technology to give life to a detailed illustration of the brand’s mascot, the macaw parrot, resulting in a striking can with strong on-shelf standout. The matt-over varnish finish contributes a premium feel to the design, Rexam claimed, and reflects Acáo’s sophistication and core demographic.
Acáo founder and chief marketing officer Christopher Reimann said: “We were recommended Rexam by our filler and are thrilled to have worked with a global can maker. Communicating our brand messaging through a sleek design that engages our end consumer is really important to us. Acáo is available to consumers through high-end hotels, restaurants and spas. We also distribute to corporate giants including the likes of Google, BMW and SAP, so ensuring the can looks chic is key. The design is simple yet effective and we are thrilled with the outcome.”
Rexam Germany sales manager Uwe Schmolling added: “We were impressed with Acáo’s concept behind the new ‘smart drink’ category and as always it was interesting working with a start-up. Both Rexam and Acáo share a passion for innovation and sustainability, making for a harmonious working partnership. We look forward to working with Acáo on their next venture and being a part of growing the smart drink category.”
