The Ryoma Holding Company has finalised its acquisition of Macap, a manufacturer of professional coffee grinders, by buying a majority stake in the company.
Venice-based Macap offers a range of products, including traditional coffee grinders, instant coffee grinders and dynamometric tampers.
Through the acquisition, Ryoma will expand its presence within the coffee business and food equipment industries.
Ryoma already owns CMA, a company that specialises in the production of espresso coffee machines, including the Astoria, Wega, Storm and Hybrid brands.
In addition, the Italian holding company owns Univerbar, a producer of cleaning solutions for the restaurant sector.
The acquisition of Macap is said to be part of the group’s investment strategy and an ‘important development opportunity’.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
