Baltimore-based distillery Sagamore Spirit has revealed two new limited edition whiskies to its lineup.
The rye whiskies, Port Finish and Double Oak, are proofed with limestone-rich spring water to balance the flavours, making each product slightly sweeter and more versatile. This will offer consumers more options as to how they take their whiskey, whether this is straight or as a mixer in cocktails.
Sagamore Spirit president, Brian Treacy, said: “Our talented distillers’ expertise, curiosity and passion for whiskey craft comes through in every new batch they create, and our new Port Finish is case in point.
“Our growing library of limited time offerings consistently raises the bar when it comes to innovation, creativity and flavour. Sometimes, they’re received so well we just have to bring them back for round two, like with Double Oak, which sold out everywhere last year.”
Double Oak had a successful debut in autumn 2017, and the reintroduction of this is indicative of its popularity. This variant is said to hold caramel and dark vanilla flavours, due to its ageing process over four years in oak barrels.
Sagamore Spirit’s other release, Port Finish, is first aged in oak barrels and is then placed in port wine barrels to result in ‘hot and spicy’ notes.
Sagamore Spirit’s Port Finish (priced at $69.99 per bottle) and Double Oak (priced at $59.99 per bottle) are now available in the US nationwide for a limited time only.
