Salad brand Florette has launched two salad mixes that are specifically designed to be used for homemade juices.
The two new mixes – Superfood and Energy Boost – contain all the ingredients for consumers to create a nutritious smoothie including mixed salad leaves and vegetables, as well as a sachet of seeds and dried fruit. The Superfood mix contains spinach, beetroot, carrot, ruby chard and a sachet of sunflower, pumpkin and hemp seeds; while the Energy Boost features beetroot, spinach, baby kale, ruby chard and a sachet of sunflower and flax seeds.
Both come with either dried cranberries or blueberries, and can be easily prepared at home with the addition of fruit – such as half a mango or a handful of raspberries – as well as the consumer’s favourite juice, all of which can be blended together into a single nutrient-packed homemade drink.
Florette’s Rebecca Walker said: “Consumer research shows shoppers are now more health-conscious than ever – but making healthy choices can be particularly difficult to fit into a busy lifestyle. Smoothies aren’t new, but for consumers with a hectic lifestyle, thinking about what ingredients to buy can be a hassle.
“Our insight found that consumers are looking for tasty options that are fresh, convenient and nutritious – and our Smoothie Mix range is just that. Our expansion into the smoothie market presents the opportunity to reach a new audience, who may not have tried our products before, as well as offering exciting new options for existing consumers.”
The convenience product will allow consumers to continue the trend of incorporating vegetables into fruit juices, as well as other products.
The range builds on Florette’s existing brand equity and will be available through online retailer Ocado with a recommended retail price of £1.50 per bag.
