Washington State Department of Agriculture discovered evidence of Salmonella after officials randomly tested a package of spinach from Taylor Farms Retail of California (US).
The company is now recalling 3,265 cases of salad blends sold under the brands Fresh Selections, H-E-B, Marketside, and Taylor Farms.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said: “Most persons infected with Salmonella develop diarrhoea, fever, and abdominal cramps 12-72 hours after infection.” In rare cases, the infection can become life-threatening and require hospitalisation.
