Asian cooking brand School of Wok continues to build its presence in the world food category with the launch of stir fry kits in the UK.
The kits come in three flavours – sweet and sour, black bean, and spicy Sichuan – and include pre-made elements such as a marinade, spice mix and sauce and aim to lead customers through three steps to achieve an authentic Chinese stir fry.
School of Wok said consumers need to add the fresh ingredients along the way, to create their chosen meal in 15 minutes.
The launch follows the brand’s debut into grocery earlier this year with the introduction of its bao bun kits in August.
Founded in 2009 by TV chef and author Jeremy Pang, School of Wok aims to make Asian cooking more accessible with a brand which focuses on putting the fun into education.
Pang said: “We believe the world food category is ripe for disruption and with the launch of our stir fry kits we are proud to be bringing a more premium and authentic offering into the supermarkets. There is absolutely no compromise on quality, providing the British public with great, authentic Chinese tastes in kits that still come at an accessible price point.
“We are thrilled to have secured the early backing of Tesco and Waitrose and look forward to the rollout of our stir fry kits and to continuing our ascent in retail, along with our mission to demystify oriental cooking in the UK.”
The stir fry kits are launching this month with a recommended retail price of £2.99.
