Scottish craft brewery Stewart Brewing has launched a new classic-tasting Scottish lager on draught.
Stewart’s Lager has been created to appeal to drinkers looking for a lighter beer from the Stewart Brewing range, it said.
Pale straw in colour with a dense white head, the lager inherits a refreshingly earthy and citrus character from the saaz variety of hops used in the brewing.
Drinkers will be able to taste the new lager in select Edinburgh bars, and will be available through Stewart’s own shops.
The city enjoys a thriving craft scene, with fellow craft beer maker Innis & Gunn and distillers Spencerfield Spirits and Pickering’s, which last year launched a bottle to celebrate its sponsorship of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, all based in the Scottish capital.
And one of the country’s biggest exports, BrewDog, is an Aberdeenshire-based craft brewer turned mainstream.
Stewart Brewing founder Jo Stewart said: “We’re excited to be bringing a great Scottish lager to the market. We wanted to create a classic tasting lager which is crisp, refined and refreshing. It’s a very moreish beer which tastes delicious with a variety of food from chicken to seafood and cheese platters to hotdogs, so it’s very versatile.
“We’re sure Stewart’s Lager will delight our current fans and introduce new drinkers to our range of craft beers.”
The 4% ABV brew will be available in keg draught only.
