The Natural Hydration Council (NHC) has announced that Shepley Spring Water has become its latest member, joining eight other bottled water producers.
The NHC represents more than 55% of the bottled water category in the UK. All members are producers of naturally sourced water and include Danone Waters (UK & Ireland), Highland Spring Group, Nestlé Waters UK, Montgomery Spring and Harrogate Water Brands.
The NHC aims to promote the important role water – whether plain still, sparkling or tap – plays in healthy hydration amongst policy makers, media and other stakeholders through scientific evidence and independent research. It also communicates the facts on bottled water to ensure the category is properly represented to these audiences.
James Smith, managing director of Shepley Spring, said: “We are very excited to become a member of the Natural Hydration Council and are looking forward to working with all of the members and the NHC team.”
Kinvara Carey, general manager of the NHC, added: “We are delighted to welcome Shepley Spring to the Natural Hydration Council. The NHC’s growing membership will enable us to continue collaborating with external organisations as well as increasing our expertise in communicating about how good hydration habits can positively impact the nation’s health.”
