British cider producer Sheppy’s has been given a rebrand and has introduced lower-ABV cans as it targets responsible drinking.
The new variants are now available in the UK in 330ml cans: Vat 14, a classic cider with 5% ABV; and Vat 07, a traditional cloudy cider at 4.5% ABV.
The cans are a nod to the cider maker’s 200 year history as they are named after the vats which have been used for years to help mature its drinks.
Sheppy’s said that the launch is the next step for the brand and that it will help ‘promote responsible drinking, with a single-serve size and lower ABV’.
Master of cider David Sheppy heads up the traditional brand at the family farm in Somerset.
“We are extremely excited about the launch of our cans,” he said. “This is something we have wanted to do for a while and after our recent rebrand, we felt it was the perfect time.
“Cans are great as they offer a smaller serving size, are lighter than glass bottles, take up less shelf space and leave less carbon footprint.
“Available in our classic cider and cloudy variant, Vat 14 and Vat 07 meet the demand for premium, great-tasting, convenient cider.”
