The UK-based service works seamlessly alongside the online stores of major supermarkets, making home cooking as simple as possible and bringing further convenience to consumers who use the internet to buy their groceries.
Designed to improve household nutrition, cut out food waste and eliminate the stress associated with cooking and grocery shopping, Sian’s Plan enables consumers to plan their meals in minutes and then directs shoppers to the retailers that sell the ingredients included in their recipes.
Users log on and select a series of dishes from an ever-expanding library of innovative and more traditional main meals, smaller options and desserts. The website automatically generates a list of all the necessary ingredients, which can be linked to the online platform of Tesco, Waitrose, My Supermarket and all other large supermarkets, purchased and delivered direct to the shopper’s door.
Alternatively, the list can be printed or emailed to smart phones and taken to a favourite supplier, allowing individuals to continue to shop the way they want, whether they prefer buying locally or using the big multiples.
The service takes its name from the founder, Sian Breslin, a 59 year old mother of three and professional home economist. She launched the website with her 29 year old son, Vincent, who translated her practical experience onto a digital platform. Their aim was to help consumers make home cooking simple whilst confronting the mounting crises in obesity, rising food prices and wastage.
Sian said: “The 21st century will be defined by how we feed our family. We eat rubbish and throw good food away; I created this website to help British households use home-cooking to eat as healthily as possible.
“One of the central benefits of Sian’s Plan is the convenience it brings to consumers, making meal-planning fast and simple and grocery shopping stress-free. Our detailed recipes list out all the ingredients needed to create delicious and healthy evening meals and our website links users directly with online retailers so doing the weekly shop can be completed in minutes.
“Our aim is to bring back the joy of cooking, taking the work out of food shopping and preparing meals.”
