British juice brand Simplee Aloe is aiming to shake up the coconut water category by introducing an aloe vera-infused coconut drink.
Available in the UK from August, the beverage contains 25% aloe vera and aims to provide an alternative to water, combining the hydrating benefits of coconut water and the soothing effects of aloe vera.
In a statement, Simplee Aloe said: “It is packed with nutrients that yield an array of health benefits such as potassium and magnesium which are crucial to the brain, nervous system and energy levels of the body.
“The addition of aloe vera effectively increases the body’s ability to absorb vitamins C and E, which help to improve gut health and enhance glowing skin. Simplee Aloe’s new water is low in sugar (with less than 5g of sugar per 100ml) and of course, all natural.”
The Simplee Aloe brand was created by two former City workers, Alex Lai and Raymond Pang, who aimed to innovate the beverage industry by boosting the UK’s interest in drinking aloe vera.
Last year the company added to its range with the introduction of a berry variant.
Simplee Aloe products are made from aloe vera grown in Southeast Asia. The leaves are handpicked, washed, peeled and pressed to release the purest inner aloe vera gel.
The new coconut variant will be available exclusively at Waitrose in 1 litre cartons with a recommended retail price of £2.80.
