Bag-in-box packaging manufacturer Smurfit Kappa has collaborated with French egg producer Domaine du Tauzia to develop a complete packaging solution for liquid eggs that uses the company’s Pouch-Up innovation.
The regional egg producer, recognised in the out-of-home catering industry, sought to differentiate itself and become a key player in the shell eggs and pasteurised eggs industries. Smurfit Kappa bag-in-box offered Domaine du Tauzia the possibility of filling liquid eggs in Pouch-Up packaging, in conjunction with Smurfit Kappa’s recently launched BIB700 SUP filling technology, which features hygienic design, stainless steel structure and a new-generation filling valve.
“Liquid eggs packaged in Pouch-Up are a first on the market,” said Didier Daste, sales director for Domaine du Tauzia. They help us innovate and diversify. Designed for the catering sector in 2016, the Pouch-Up has really conquered the bakers and pastry network in 2015,”
The Pouch-Up offers several advantages to customers in the food industry, Smurfit Kappa said: it is lightweight and unbreakable, extremely convenient and guarantees the hygiene conditions necessary to its use in the food industry and in the catering circuit, which makes it perfectly adapted to the liquid eggs market. Available in 1 litre or 2 litre packaging, its pouring spout, placed at the top, allows an adapted and clean flow of the liquid eggs, Smurfit Kappa said.
