A socially conscious new coconut water brand will launch in the UK, made exclusively from single-source Nam Hom coconuts from central Thailand.
The coconuts, from the Ratchaburi region, impart a ‘sweet fragrance and distinctive nutty flavour’ to the organic coconut water, Coco Community said. The water is thermally processed to ensure a high level of food safety while preserving nutrients, electrolytes and the authentic flavour of the coconuts. It is also organic, non-GMO and Fair For Life.
Fair For Life is committed to fair sourcing practices, farmers’ rights and improving the livelihood of the coconut communities. Coco Community said that it intends to nurture fair, long-term and organic partnerships with its coconut suppliers, guaranteeing the best deal for everyone from the farmer to the consumer.
In the long-run, it will aim to empower farmers and their families by supporting local grower initiatives that will nurture the long-term socio-economic development of local communities in Thailand, the brand said.
It will launch into Wholefoods and Waitrose later this month, packed in 250ml bottles with a recommended retail price of £2.29.
The premium offering is the latest product from the manufacturer of Vita Coco.
