SodaStream has announced the US launch of Spirit, its accessibly priced home carbonator, under the US-specific name of SodaStream Fizzi.
The company’s newest sparkling water maker will arrive in the US market this month ahead of a wider global rollout. A starter package of the new entry-level machine has “a consumer-friendly” retail price of $79.99, which includes the Fizzi machine, a BPA-free 1 litre carbonating bottle and the SodaStream CO2 cylinder to bring bubbles to up to 60 liters of water.
The Fizzi, engineered at SodaStream’s own laboratories, allows consumers to transform readily available plain water into great-tasting sparkling water at home in less than ten seconds. Quick and easy to use, the machine features the company’s proprietary snap-lock technology that instantly “clips” the bottle to the machine for a simple user experience, SodaStream said.
The Fizzi is also the company’s slimmest and most space-efficient design yet, engineered with the modern kitchen in mind.
“The Fizzi was developed to bring the ease and joy of preparing fresh sparkling water at home to more people at an accessible price point,” said SodaStream chief executive officer Daniel Birnbaum. “When you think of how much you’d pay for 60 liters of sparkling water from a store, you’d realise that the Fizzi is practically free. Now there’s no reason for anyone who loves bubbles not to join the home bubble revolution. Because both sustainability and wellness are becoming more important to consumers around the world, we are proud to be the innovators who provide such a terrific solution for hydration that’s better for people – and better for our planet.”
