US beverage company Soul Fizz has launched its first line of better-for-you fruit-flavoured sparkling water drinks.
The Giggle line-up will be available in 8.4oz cans, with two initial flavours: lemonlicious and orangeriffic. The lightly carbonated drinks are naturally sweetened with stevia and erythritol, with less than 15 calories per can and free from artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. Soul Fizz – positioned as a producer of organic, low-calorie and vitamin-rich drinks – will formally debut at Expo West in California next month.
Founded by certified health coach Elle Kister and husband Adrian Kister, Giggle came about after the birth of the couple’s third child. They actively began researching throughout Australia, and then the global food and beverage market, for a line of child-friendly, low calorie, vitamin-enhanced sparkling drinks to give to their children in place of sugary juices and soft drinks. Finding nothing, the pair decided to invent a brand themselves.
“As a health coach and parent, I was shocked to find the youth health beverage space grossly underserved,” said Giggle co-founder Elle Kister. “In creating Giggle, it was imperative that our sparkling beverages were full of flavour, USDA-certified organic and low calorie without having any artificial sweeteners or flavours.
“The response and feedback from retailers and consumers has been fantastic.”
It was important to appeal to the tastes of children as much as to their parents, as Adrian Kister explained: “Children never hold back when it comes to their likes and dislikes, and we waited until we had their unanimous approval to launch. We know that if kids love Giggle, adults, young and old alike, will love it too.”
Giggle’s lemonlicious and orangerrific variants have launched in over 40 locations across California, with nationwide interest already received, the brand said. Giggle is available in single-serve cans with a retail price of $1.79.
