The company, which makes a range of traditional and healthier cheeses, was recently shortlisted in Aldi’s superstar cheese competition for its new Cricketer Quantock Gold, and was presented with a cup in the Best Farmhouse Mild Cheddar Class at the Frome Cheese Show, where it sponsored the cheesemaking demonstration by Bob Kitching.
Jo Carter, sales and marketing manager at Cricketer Farm, said: “It’s great to be able to report success and growth at Cricketer, and this is testament to our skilled team of cheesemakers. Cricketer Farm has been making cheese in Nether Stowey for over 60 years and this year saw the launch of our new Cricketer Farm Cheddar and Quantock Gold Cheddar at the Nantwich International Cheese Show. Our Quantock Gold has already been shortlisted in Aldi’s superstar cheese competition, a scheme which was launched to celebrate the best of British cheese.”
