European packaging manufacturer Südpack has unveiled a new digital printing process that allows it to personalise packaging with a bespoke message.
The company is now able to print films up to 0.25mm in thickness with a range of film surfaces thanks to its HP Indigo 20000 digital press. As with other models in the HP Indigo range, simple changeovers of print layouts are possible with minimal preparation and downtime. The films are printed with special, food-safe inks.
The digital technology facilitates a range of personalised pack options, offering brands the chance to create engaging and personalised on-pack messaging for consumers.
And the Germany-headquartered manufacturer has been able to eliminate foggy sealing films with its new Safe Peel Clear AF top film for trays, which uses an improved anti-fog technology to prevent fog from forming on the inside of the cover film and ensuring a clear view of the contents inside. Safe Peel Clear AF is a thin, stiff high barrier film that is easy to open once applied to tray packaging, the company said.
