Synergy Flavours has announced the completion of a new high-care blending facility, which has been added to its production site in Samut Samut Prakan, Thailand.
Synergy says that the additional capacity will enable it to address growing demand for sports nutrition beverages, baby infant formula and sweet-flavoured functional mix drinks from Asian markets.
The new high-care blending facility, which adds 2,500 square metres to the Thailand plant, is equipped with a ribbon blender and an air shower. The additional space will produce powder blended flavours, instant beverage mixes and infant follow-on formula, among other products.
Synergy will also use the facility to manufacture its recently introduced Dairy by Nature range of flavours for the bakery, beverages and cheese sectors. The portfolio of natural taste solutions can reportedly be used in a range of products to replace or mimic dairy, as well as to enhance the flavour of existing dairy ingredients.
“This is the latest in a series of investments in Asia as we continue to add capacity and expertise to our strategically important site near Bangkok,” said Geoff Allen, managing director Southeast Asia for Synergy Flavours’ Thailand subsidiary.
“With the new high-care blending facility, we are perfectly placed to help our customers in the region to cater to emerging consumer trends, such as the interest in ambient or warm sports nutrition beverages and ‘growing up milk’ – for infants of one to four years old.
“Our global presence and combined technical and marketing expertise mean we can help customers be quick to market with innovative, delicious products, that consumers will love.”
