Packaging manufacturer Synerlink has launched a new packaging technology for applying sleeve labels to packaging cups.
The innovation is 5m long and benefits from a significantly reduced carbon footprint to existing solutions, its manufacturer claimed. The technology is designed for line integration, offering an adaptable system that minimises waste and product changeover time. Its single, standard module can be added onto both FS and FFS lines, applying sleeve labels on both packs and unit cups.
The machine allows manufacturers to “begin production from undifferentiated packaging,” Synerlink said, “saving both storage and labour costs”.
A company spokesperson added: “To retain customers’ loyalty, yogurt and milk-based dessert producers must rely more than ever on product quality and texture, as well as on a constant stream of new flavours. This drives a marketing strategy that benefits significantly from premium packaging to convey this value to consumers.
“Having a product packed in a premium package – a nice shape with a bright sleeve and perfectly positioned lid – and delivered in multi-packs is an opportunity to gain new market shares. Better still, add the ability to mix flavours in these multi-packs to satisfy all family members’ tastes or to offer a more diversified experience to consumers. The Synerlink R&D team was inspired to meet these needs when developing a new innovative packaging solution.”
