The Takasago Group has opened its first flavours and fragrances factory in Indonesia following an investment of $25 million.
Built on nearly 16,000 square meters of land, the facility has become Takasago’s 12th plant for flavours and fragrances production worldwide.
The Japanese company said it chose Indonesia for the plant due to its “stable economy, excellent geographical location, skilled workforces and good infrastructures”.
The factory will serve the Southeast Asia market with up to 14,500 metric tons of capacity per year.
In a statement, Takasago said: “The opening of the PT Takasago International Indonesia factory gives Takasago a big advantage in the Asian marketplace especially for Indonesia.
“By having this state-of-the-art factory, Takasago will be able to provide better services to their clients in terms of lead time, and to support the fast-growing FMCG market in Indonesia.”
The opening of the factory last month was marked with an event at the site, which included the presence of Takasago executives from its headquarters in Japan, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Takasago has offices, production sites, and research and development centres in 27 countries.
