Tetra Pak has announced the acquisition of Laude, a Dutch manufacturer of plastic moulds use in the production of hard and semi-hard cheeses.
The acquisition, according to Tetra Pak, will strengthen the company’s position as a leading provider of complete solutions for cheese manufacturing, and will extend the availability of Laude products worldwide.
The newly acquired unit will form part of Tetra Pak Cheese and Powder Systems, remaining in its current location in the north of the Netherlands and continuing under the leadership of managing director Auke Rienks.
Tim High, executive vice-president processing systems for Tetra Pak, said: “Laude has established a reputation for providing very high-quality moulds and service to the cheese industry. We are delighted to add Laude products to our already comprehensive portfolio, and offer even more competitive cheese lines with guaranteed performance.”
And Laude’s Auke Rienks added: “Our customers will continue to get market leading products and services from Laude. We see an exciting opportunity for international growth through Tetra Pak channels, particularly outside of Europe, where our focus has been in the past.”
