The event was open to children and families, all of whom participated in a range of activities such as a drinking milk contest, milk life cycle, farm talent show, cow T-shirt relay and a variety of interactive games all centred on the topic of healthy and nutritious milk.
During the day, free samples of Awal Dairy’s flavoured and plain long-life milk in Tetra Pak cartons were distributed. Jose Maria Hernandez, liquid dairy products category manager, Tetra Pak Arabia, said: “This is the second year Tetra Pak Arabia has organised an event for World Milk Day in Bahrain.
“At Tetra Pak, we believe it’s our responsibility to raise awareness about the importance of drinking milk. World Milk Day has helped us do just that by giving the opportunity to educate children and parents through interactive and educational activities.”
This event is part of Tetra Pak Arabia’s ongoing drive to raise awareness about the health benefits of packaged milk products in the region. Through the last few years, the company has organised World Milk Days events in Kuwait, KSA, UAE and Yemen.
“Programmes like World Milk Day reiterate our commitment to becoming an active and socially responsible player in the community,” said Samad Al Khaja, general manager, Awal Dairy. “It’s important for children and parents to learn the importance of consuming milk and its health benefits.”
Taking place on 1 June every year, the World Milk Day is promoted by Food & Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).
