The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) awards recognise plants that fulfil the demanding requirements of the JIPM’s continuous improvement programme. Tetra Pak factories in Rubiera (Italy), Wrexham (Wales), Kiev (Ukraine) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) received the TPM’s 2008 Excellence Awards.
The company’s plants in Pune (India), Gornji Milanovac (Serbia) and Kunshan (China) received the TPM’s 2008 Consistency Awards. To date, a total of 21 Tetra Pak factories around the world have been recognised by the JIPM.
TPM aims to reduce machinery breakdowns, accidents and defects by involving all plant employees in the manufacturing process and integrating maintenance with production. The JIPM awards demonstrate recognition of adhering to best-in-class practices and commitment to continuous improvement as a world-class manufacturer in terms of controlling and improving the quality, environmental impacts and costs of production.
“We’re proud to receive this important recognition from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance,” said Alejandro Anavi, executive vice president, Supply Chain Operations, Tetra Pak. “Total quality and continuous improvement are the cornerstones of our commitment to customers every day. We provide them with packaging solutions they can rely on to operate safely and cost-effectively in an increasingly demanding environment.”
JIPM launched the PM award system in 1964 to strengthen the improvement of enterprise constitutions and contribute to the development of industry by promoting the modernisation of plant maintenance and the development of plant maintenance technologies.
