New York wine brand the Drop Wine has released a resealable version of its portable canned rosé for US consumers.
The can was inspired by the need for consumers to enjoy wine on the go, appealing to the convenience and portability trends across the food and beverage industry. The resealable lid, which Drop says was developed in Germany, will add to the convenience aspect to the can and enable consumers to save the drink for later. It also aims to reflect the mobility of younger consumers by reducing the risk of spills on the go.
Drop founder Alexis Beechen said: “We liberated wine from the white tablecloth, preferring cans of wine in the great outdoors.
“Safer than glass, easier to recycle, and more stable than a corked bottle, The Drop’s 250ml single-servings have been a hit with active and adventurous wine drinkers. Now we’ve revolutionised our cans to make them even more mobile. Our new 375ml, half-bottle can with a retractable lid allows you to easily move the party from the boat to the beach or the lodge to the lake without spillage.”
The resealable cans retail for $5.99 each or $35.99 for a 6-pack online.
