US-based food solutions manufacturer TIC Gums has announced that it is widening its Ticaloid Ultrasmooth range of stabilisers, which improve the texture and stability of instant beverages.
The new Ultrasmooth NGMO and Ticaloid OG 1155 will offer consumers organic and non-genetically modified alternatives to the existing product line. The company say that the range dissolves easily in instant drinks to provide reduced perception of suspended matter, and improve the textural experience.
The expansion of the Ultrasmooth portfolio demonstrates the demand for sports-related protein drinks, which are perceived to offer consumers convenience and a number of nutritional benefits. Global market research company Euromonitor estimated that the industry was worth £4.9bn worldwide in 2012, and could be worth as much as £7.8bn by 2017.
Both the organic and non-genetically modified additions are kosher and made from all natural ingredients.
