Once again, FoodBev Media has been all over the globe spotting the latest innovations and trends, along the way speaking with interesting characters with unique and truly groundbreaking ideas, representing organisations from major household names to start-ups with grand ideas of being the next big thing.
Here’s a collection of some of our favourite video interviews from the past year.
Back in February, the FoodBev team descended on Gulfood 2016 in Dubai and Bill Bruce interviewed MKN’s Elias Rached, who was ecstatic that the company scooped two awards in the categories of best new catering equipment innovation and best heavy equipment innovation awards at the 2016 Gulfood Awards.
Clipper Tea is a company that seemingly has a never-ending range of products and, at Hotelympia 2016, Claire Phoenix spoke with Rebecca Vercoe about the expansion of its portfolio and its innovative range.
In March, Inkka’s Maya Petrova spoke with Bill Bruce about the company’s 100% quinoa pasta. Maya also spoke in depth about how quinoa is one of the lost crops of the incas. This was after the company claimed the best new ‘free from’ category at the IFE World Food Innovation Awards 2016.
In May, Darren Wood spoke with Jose Avalos from Intel at Venditalia, as the company introduced its new platform for intelligent vending and dispensing.
Earlier this year, Zerica produced a new all-in-one vending machine in partnership with Bevila.
Sandra Felix explained to Darren Wood about why it was important for companies to understand customers’ wishes of having multiple vending solutions within the workplace.
Vitafoods 2016, held in Geneva, Switzerland, showcased the best in the way of ingredients, raw materials and dietary supplements. While at the show, Ingredia showcased its new lactoferrin protein and Darren Wood caught up with Fatiha Hani and Jessica Schwarz to talk about it.

In November, at BrauBeviale 2016 Colin Gillis, president of Ball Beverage Packaging Europe showcased the company’s Strawster concept, a gadget available in Ball’s 25cl slim can. As Colin said, the technology features a self-activated straw that appears once the tab of the can is engaged, provides a unique aspect to the overall drinks experience. The product can also be customised.
During Hi Europe, Sarah O’Neill of Carbery spoke with Jesús Luna-Lopez about the company’s new milky whey-based beverage, which is UHT stable and suitable in neutral pH applications.
