TRM Packaging, a UK independent manufacturer of corrugated retail and shelf-ready packaging, has officially opened its new colour lab.
The installation of the comprehensively equipped lab enhances the collaboration between TRM and Flint Group, which includes complete integrated colour management services as well as market-leading quality and process reporting software.
The colour lab is the latest in a catalogue of investments at TRM’s Burscough site, which include a £3.2m high quality Gopfert Impression printer and a £1m upgrade to the company’s corrugator.
“The addition of this colour lab is yet another indicator of the focus TRM puts into providing the highest print qualities and products for our customers,” said TRM print development manager James Jolley. “The new facility will allow TRM’s qualified technicians to produce high specification digital print swatches and conduct assessments of inks, technical mediums and varnishes in house, which will reduce lead times associated with the process.
“It sits alongside the business’ structural lab and enhances our product testing capabilities to ensure that the packaging we manufacture not only meets but also exceeds our customer requirements.”
TRM has worked with Flint Group since 2008 and the investment and installation of the colour lab is part of a new five-year partnership. The lab connects the packaging manufacturer directly with Flint Groups European Colour Centre (ECC) in Lodz, Poland.
