US-based ice cream producer Turkey Hill Dairy has launched a new all-natural gelato, which it claimed was the first product line of its kind from a major ice cream brand.
Combining fresh milk and sugar, Turkey Hill gelato contains “less air than most ice creams, giving it a richer mouthfeel”, the brand said. Packaged in a 32oz tub, it is available in vanilla, sea salted caramel, chocolate chip, peach-mango, hazelnut, coffee chip, chocolate peanut butter and mint chocolate chip varieties.
Turkey Hill Dairy president John Cox said: “Our loyal fans are looking for great taste and simple ingredients. Given the success of Turkey Hill all-natural ice cream – and realising gelato is a rapidly growing category – we’re excited to bring this traditional Italian ice cream to grocery store shelves, adding a touch of Turkey Hill’s Lancaster County roots to every bite.”
The Pennsylvania-made product will be available in grocery and convenience retailers where existing Turkey Hill products, beginning this month.
