Tyson Foods has announced a series of organisational changes that will see three of the company’s executives take charge of its fresh meat, poultry, and prepared foods segments.
Chief global growth officer Sally Grimes will become group president of Tyson’s prepared foods division, while chief operations officer Noel White has been made group president of fresh meats – consisting of beef and pork – as well as Tyson’s international sales.
Doug Ramsey will also become group president of poultry, having been promoted in April to the role of president of poultry operations.
The latest move makes that appointment more consistent across three of Tyson Foods’ most important product categories.
Ramsey had previously served as a senior vice-president in the poultry business, managing a portion of the business that included key foodservice accounts, Tyson-branded retail products and the company’s school lunch programme.
According to Tyson Foods CEO Tom Hayes, the move will make the business better able to respond to industry challenges.
“A dynamic market demands we become more agile while focusing on consumers, customers and the businesses that deliver our revenue and profit,” Hayes said. “This simple design creates individual responsibility for the performance of our segments to enable faster, better decisions.”
Chief integration officer George Chappelle will continue to lead the integration of AdvancePierre Foods, later becoming chief operations officer within the prepared foods division. As such, he will report to new group president Sally Grimes.
Andy Callahan, who is currently president of Tyson Foods’ North American Foodservice & International business, as well as chief growth officer Monica McGurk will leave the company.
Hayes said they had delivered “valuable contributions to Tyson Foods” and wished them well for the future.
The company will report its results for the last three months of its fiscal year next week.
“We are excited about the direction in which Tyson Foods is headed and look forward to sharing our third-quarter results on our earnings call,” Hayes concluded.
