Northern Monk Brew Co has unveiled its core range of beer in can format, launching the new packaging option this week.
The cans use the latest canning technology and Northern Monk is one of the first UK breweries to receive an in-house Wild Goose canning line, the company said. The cans “provide a more environmentally friendly, fresher and more lightweight way to get [the] beer to the consumer,” it added.
The beers now available in cans are the Leeds-based brewer’s Eternal session IPA, Northern Star mocha porter and New World IPA.
Northern Monk Brew Co founder and owner Russell Bisset said: “Our raison d’être from the inception of the brewery has been to take the best of what came before us and look at how we move that forwards and embrace the best of the new, whether that’s ingredients, techniques, dispense or packaging. We’re incredibly excited to be able to bring our beers to our customers in a more environmentally [friendly] and fresher way. The canning line will also open doors for us internationally and help us build on the trade we now do across Europe.
We’re in talks with distributors in the US as well as other destinations further afield and look forward to taking the beer we produce in the centre of Leeds across the world. Closer to home it’s been great to work with independents across the region and we look forward to further opportunities to support and collaborate with other up and coming businesses in the city.”Nor
