UK soft drinks brands Dalston’s has added to its range of craft sodas by releasing three new flavours for the UK market.
Both fizzy elderflower and cherryade flavours are brand new creations, while the third new flavour is a reformulated version of the brand’s ginger beer.
The base for each drink is British spring water, which is blended with beet sugar. The elderflower flavour features British elderflower, while cherryade features a blend of Morello and sour cherries.
To accompany the release of the drinks, the brand has redesigned its cans to give them a more striking shelf-presence, featuring hand-drawn illustrations to reflect “the honest approach” Dalston’s takes towards ingredients.
Dan Broughton, Dalston’s managing director said: “Our 2017 cans’ launch was a real hit; we ended up selling over 600,000 units, which was our most successful launch ever!
“Thanks to this and Waitrose’s subsequent endorsement, a start-up with a small East London brew yard is making the leap into being a credible national player.
“Combined with our significantly increased production capacity, this brilliant new trio will help us keep up with the huge consumer demand for better soft drinks.
“In the same way that craft beer has exploded in popularity over the past few years, we’re now witnessing a sustained rise in demand for more honest, additive-free and better-tasting soft drinks.
“Also, as consumers are embracing alcohol-free alternatives at home and on nights out, they’re looking for more exciting soft drinks than the usual sugar-heavy suspects.”
Dalston’s new flavours will be available from Waitrose, Ocado, Whole Foods Market and AS Nature Intended stores in the UK, with a suggested retail price of £1.09 per 330ml can.
