British beverage brand Upbeat Drinks has launched a new range of fruit spring waters which are enriched with protein and vitamins.
Aimed at consumers who are seeking low-sugar products, the line is available in two flavours: summer lemon, and blueberry and raspberry.
Each 500ml bottle is made with real fruit, contains 12 grams of whey protein, is filled with essential vitamins, has less than 55 calories and no added sugar.
The packaging design aims to use impactful fonts and fruit imagery to showcase each flavour profile and create on-shelf appeal.
Upbeat Drinks managing director Mark Neville said: “Taste is so important in this market and combining expertise in juice drinks with our pioneering protein knowledge has delivered an outstanding result.
“We recognise that consumers are increasingly looking for healthy drinks that do not just offer great taste and low sugar, but also deliver better-for-you nutrition so people can be at their best all day.
“We believe this product is one of the first that strongly delivers against all of these elements whilst being at a mainstream, affordable price point.”
The brand said that as consumer awareness around the nutritional benefit of protein increases, demand for protein in beverages will grow rapidly among mainstream consumers.
David Gardner, an ex-Britvic director who joined Upbeat Drinks, said: “After testing the new Upbeat drink with over 5,000 consumers, feedback was that the product looked outstanding and tasted refreshing.
“They were really surprised that the high-protein, low-sugar combination didn’t adversely impact the taste. The affordable RRP of £1.79 was also well received, as the price point is on par with vitamin waters and only marginally more expensive than standard juice drinks.”
The new drinks are available in the UK and have a recommended retail price of £1.79 per bottle.
