In the United States, Kronfli Brothers has launched Labni, a Mediterranean-style kefir yogurt snack.
Available in four varieties – classic, lavender and honey, mint and garlic, and sundried tomato and basil – Labni is intended to be used as a dip or spread. Each 210g cup contains seven 2g servings, with each serving providing 2g of protein, along with 35–45 calories and 2.5g–3g of fat, depending on the variety.
The all-natural and gluten-free cultured dairy product contains five live and active probiotic cultures.
Labni, the base ingredient, is made with cultured pasteurised Grade A milk and cream, condensed skim milk, whey protein concentrate, pectin and salt.
