Parents are scrutinising packaging more carefully and looking for low salt, low sugar options wherever possible.
Mini nom nom’s is a new “world brand” food range that aims to bring healthy yet slightly spicier foods into a child’s food repertoire with names such as Tiny Tiffin’s and Tiny Thai as well as Little Laska. Also along these lines is Quinola Mothergrain Kids Quinoa and in the veggie section ‘Oloves naked’ – simple pitted snacking olives.
For those looking to cut sugar content, Jim-Jams is a no added sugar chocolate spread while Claudi & Fin have designed Greek style frozen yogurt lollies as a healthy treat.
Drinks are big news too, with WiSH by SEiMEi from Denmark a cold-pressed smoothie with the by-product being used to make fruit snacks, Vegessentials drinks are offering just that – vegetables in delicious smoothie format, and organic Y water is packaged in easy to hold cardboard triangular pouches – the shape of the original Tetra Pak.
Finalists and winners in the 15 categories of the World Food Innovation Awards 2015 were announced at a special ceremony at IFE at ExCel in London on 23 March. The IFE World Food Innovation Awards are sponsored by Tetra Pak.
