Coconut water brand Vita Coco has launched a new dairy milk alternative made with coconut cream and the brand’s not-from-concentrate coconut water.
Vita Coco’s coconut milk alternative has added calcium and minerals and is free from dairy, while still retaining the flavour and consistency of other milk alternative products. In particular, the use of coconut cream will seek to address other brand offerings in the alternative dairy space, which traditionally, Vita Coco said, have been too ‘watery’.
The new product can be paired with breakfast cereals or added to tea and coffee. It is also packed with electrolytes and free from added sugar.
Available from 1 March, it is packaged in a 1 litre PET bottle with a recommended retail price of £2.99 per bottle.
Vita Coco CEO for EMEA, Giles Brook, said: “Our strategy is to become synonymous with all things coconut and our Vita Coco coconut milk alternative launch is at the very core of this. We’ve demonstrated in chilled juice through Vita Coco coconut water the impact we can make to the wider category and are committed to achieving the same level of success in milk alternatives.
“As well as being majority coconut not water-based, the other major differential is the taste which we capture under our ‘tastes like no udder’ sign off.”
