Congratulations then to Coca-Cola along with Dow Chemical, General Electric and Goldman Sachs (among others) for a simply brilliant idea: Make public all the information they have about it.
These companies have spent years, decades even, developing databases about water supplies and shortages. Now the information will be put to use through the new Aqueduct Alliance to help inform investment and planning decisions by other businesses as well as governments.
As a Coca-Cola spokesperson said in the Financial Times on 16 August: “It’s the right thing to do.”
I couldn’t agree more.
