Israel-based start-up Wine Water is launching a wine-grape infused spring water range called O.Vine, which is completely alcohol-free.
Featuring a blend of spring water and red or white grape skins and seeds derived from wine grape waste, the drinks are free from alcohol, preservatives and artificial flavours.
The O.Vine product range includes two still and two sparkling drinks, available in both red and white varieties.
Wine Water collaborated with Israel-based start-up accelerator Practical Innovation to make the drinks, and the collaborative team developed a process which prevented the oxidation of the drinks while maintaining the wine’s natural colour and aroma.
Anat Levi, CEO and founder of Wine Water said: “Developing O.Vine was extremely challenging. Based on our winemaking expertise, we designed proprietary technology and specialised techniques.
“These methods prevent oxidation – the main obstacle to keeping the beverage fresh and shelf stable – without alcohol and without preservatives.
“I’m passionate about creating innovative beverages based on winemaking traditions, proliferating wine’s wellness benefits and raising the lifestyle to a new level.
“Drinking wine is a pure pleasure, but not all consumers are able to indulge due to its alcohol content. For example, it is recommended that pregnant women avoid alcohol entirely.
“O.Vine imparts the wine sensation and awakens the memory of drinking wine. The beverage delivers the health benefits of antioxidants – without the alcohol. Moreover, by upcycling the excess wine ingredients, the product is environmentally friendly.”
The O.Vine product line has been launched at the Fancy Food Show in New York, which runs from 30 June to 2 July 2018.
