Yu! has unveiled a brand new look, as it prepares to launch a range of new flavour varieties into its brand of healthy fruit snacks.
The brand, owned by Elite Healthy Foods, is introducing a new selection of mini star- and heart-shaped fruit chews with zero added sugar, as well as a revamped range of fruit pieces. Each product in the 100% Fruit Chews range is free from gluten and nuts, and is suitable both for vegetarians and vegans.
As part of the product revamp, 30% of the yogurt coating has been removed from the fruit pieces to make it lighter, and will be replaced by even more fruit content. They have a fibre content of 11% and offer what the company describes as “a subtly sweet and creamy taste to make them a viable alternative to confectionery.”
Philip O’Connor, co-founder of Elite Healthy Foods, says: “Our 100% Fruit Chews have already proven a huge hit amongst adults and kids alike, but we wanted to maximise this by looking at ways to broaden the opportunity for both parents and retailers.
“This meant retaining the qualities the product is known for – 100% fruit, no added sugar, high in fibre and one of your five-a-day – and applying this to a raft of child-friendly formats in a variety of fruity flavours that meet strict school allergen criteria, and also take into account the prevalence of special diets.”
The product introduction will be accompanied by a complete redesign of the brand’s packaging, which will be rolled out across both new and existing Yu! products. The new design benefits from a “bolder, cleaner and more vibrant pack design to boost on-shelf visibility,” according to the company.
