Yanmar opens agricultural innovation centre in Thailand to support sustainable farming

Japanese machinery manufacturer Yanmar has launched a new agricultural innovation hub in Thailand aimed at improving farm productivity, accelerating technology adoption and supporting more sustainable food production practices.

The new YANMAR Solution Experience Center, located in Bang Nam Priao District in Chachoengsao Province, has been established as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Thailand’s agricultural sector through training, precision farming technologies and integrated crop management solutions.

The facility will focus heavily on rice production, a key pillar of Thailand’s agricultural economy, and is designed to provide farmers with practical demonstrations of machinery and smart farming systems across the cultivation process.

The centre will also offer hands-on technical training, farm management guidance and advisory services intended to improve operational efficiency and long-term competitiveness.

Masatoshi Suyama, president of Yanmar, said: “The YANMAR Solution Experience Center represents our commitment to working alongside Thai farmers to build a more sustainable and resilient agricultural future. By combining advanced technologies, practical training and strong partnerships, we aim to help farmers improve productivity while reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term growth.”

The centre has been developed through a partnership between Chia Tai Company Limited and Chinese agricultural drone specialist XAG Co. The collaboration combines expertise in seed technology, crop management, drones and agricultural equipment to create an integrated farming ecosystem.

According to Yanmar, the project forms part of the company’s wider push to expand beyond machinery manufacturing into full-service agricultural solutions. The initiative is intended to help address major challenges facing the sector, including labour shortages, rising production costs and environmental sustainability concerns.

The launch also aligns with the company’s Green 2050 strategy, which focuses on decarbonisation and sustainable industrial development. Through the promotion of precision agriculture and more efficient resource use, the centre aims to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions linked to agricultural production while supporting farmer incomes and food system resilience.

The company said the facility will host seminars, study visits and training programmes for farmers, students, government agencies and private-sector organisations to encourage wider knowledge sharing across the agricultural industry.

Founded in Osaka in 1912, Yanmar Holdings operates across sectors including agricultural machinery, construction equipment, marine systems and energy technologies.
