At the end of July 2014, Amcor and Sidel announced a joint venture to commercialise a new bottle-making technology called LiquiForm. Bill Bruce talks to LiquiForm president Ann O’Hara on Skype about the development of the technology, and next steps.
The newly announced joint venture between Amcor and Sidel is commercialising a technology that has already seen over eight years of investment and development. With claims that forming a bottle with the drink itself, rather than compressed air, actually makes a better bottle, LiquiForm also aims to deliver a reduction in operating costs of up to 25%.
Ann O’Hara talked about the journey so far, the development partners, LiquiForm’s advantages across a potential range of plastics, and the future opportunity that the technology brings to the beverage industry.
