Iran Agrofood 2021
Sep 22 – Sep 25 all-day

Fresh Start for the Iran Business, this is the tagline of the upcoming 28th edition of Iran agrofood taking place from 22 to 25 September 2021 at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground.

Already since 1994, the German exhibition specialists fairtrade and their Iranian partners Palar Samaneh have been organising Iran agrofood.

With some 40,000+ trade visitors and 1,400+ exhibitors from 40+ countries annually in years like 2016 to 2018 and its decades-long success story, Iran agrofood is the industry’s most important platform for valuable business contacts for Iran and its neighbouring countries.

With its four dedicated partial fairs Iran agro, Iran food + bev tec, Iran food ingredients and Iran food + hospitality, Iran agrofood covers the entire process chain from field to fork.

News on the Iranian market:

Since 6 April 2021, top diplomats from the six parties – Iran, USA, Russia, China, UK, France and Germany – have been resuming talks in Vienna with the aim of reviving the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Joe Biden‘s policy thus opens up new perspectives for doing business with Iran: “If Iran returns to strict compliance with the nuclear deal, the United States would rejoin the agreement as a starting point for follow-on negotiations.”

If appropriate agreements are reached, sanctions could be reduced or even eliminated altogether. Financial transactions could be re-established within the usual framework. Not surprisingly in this new and promising situation, national pavilions have already been confirmed from Brazil, Germany, India, Italy, and Turkey.

Ethiopia Agrofood 2021
Oct 14 – Oct 16 all-day

Based on these upbeat market developments, agrofood Ethiopia is to continue its success story. Organised by the German trade show specialists fairtrade in cooperation with their Ethiopian partners Prana Events, agrofood Ethiopia is held in conjunction with plastprintpack Ethiopia, Ethiopia’s 4th International Plastics, Printing and Packaging Trade Show at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa from 14 – 16 October 2021. The event covers the entire process chain, consisting of the three sub-brands agro AgroTech, food + bev tec and food + hospitality.

Country pavilions:

At least five official country pavilions have booked for 2021, namely from China, Germany, Italy, Kuwait and Turkey. Kuwait will be in for the very first time with an official national pavilion while China, Germany, Italy and Turkey renew and upgrade their pavilions.

The market:

East and Central Africa’s largest economy is on the growth track as Ethiopia’s GDP is expected to increase from US$ 84 billion in 2018 to US$ 93 billion in 2019, US$ 96 billion in 2020 and US$ 92 billion in 2021. (GTAI)
Ethiopia’s GDP has thus grown more than tenfold between 2000 (US$ 8 billion) and 2018 and more than twelvefold by 2020. (World Bank) As a result, Ethiopia became one of the world’s fastest growing economies and an impressive investment destination in Africa.
And due to high and sustained investments and its enormous expected population growth from currently 112 million to 200 million in 2050 (United Nations), it is all too likely that Ethiopia will expand its position as East and Central Africa’s largest economic player enormously.
According to the Ethiopian government, Ethiopia, until 2025, shall become the manufacturing hub of Africa, and its population shall achieve middle-income status. All this shall be reached within the framework of a carbon neutral economy.
