In the past fifteen months, in separated deals, C&C acquired Gaymers cider and Scotland’s most popular lager, Tennent’s. It also sold off its spirits and liqueurs unit. H1 operating profit from continuing operations rose by 29% to €63.4m.
“The group’s premium brands are in good health and it is re-assuring to see the development of Magner’s internationally begin to provide some protection against the current market challenges of Ireland,” said chief executive John Dunsmore.
Magner’s total sales volumes grew by 1.6% compared to the same period last year including growth of 0.7% in Britain.
