Duncan Taylor’s Glen Grant 36yo was the overall top-scoring premium whisky – a massive achievement for the Aberdeenshire-based company.
Thousands of whiskies were blind-tasted by 11 experts over the course of the awards, but it was Duncan Taylor that came out tops on the night. In addition to the overall award, Duncan Taylor was awarded a gold medal for the Glen Grant 36yo, attracting 91 points from the judges.
A further three silver medals were awarded for the company’s Glen Grant, Glenrothes and Carsebridge and a bronze medal for the Bowmore.
Duncan Taylor’s MD, Euan Shand, was overwhelmed by his company’s success awards: “Duncan Taylor has attracted numerous awards over the years, but this is by far the biggest and most respected endorsement of the quality of our whiskies. Being pitched against the world’s best whisky and coming out ahead is a great achievement and brings to the fore the skill, husbandry and quality standards we’ve set in place at Duncan Taylor.”
