Huhtamaki UK has announced its involvement in UK Coffee Week. Huhtamaki UK will be participating in Coffee@Work 2013, the event bringing UK Coffee Week into the workplace and supporting the charitable initiative Project Waterfall.
Taking place 22-28 April 2013, Coffee@Work is sponsored by Kenco Millicano and is a key event in the UK Coffee Week calendar.
UK Coffee Week is a nationwide charitable programme raising funds to provide sustainable clean water projects in deprived African communities related to the tea and coffee industries, in partnership with WaterAid.
Huhtamaki UK is also a major sponsor of The London Coffee Guide, which will launch during The London Coffee Festival, which runs in conjunction with UK Coffee Week.
"Huhtamaki UK is very proud to support these fantastic initiatives," said John Young, UK foodservice sales & marketing director. "We supply many products to the takeaway coffee shops on our high streets, which have a big impact on the UK economy. It is only right, therefore, that we give something back to the countries that provide us with such wonderful coffee beans, such as Tanzania, but which struggle for clean drinking water.
"The promotion and practice of ethical sustainability is at the very heart of everything we do at Huhtamaki UK, which makes it even more important that we lend our support."
