Bag-in-box specialist Smurfit Kappa has widened the scope of its Pouch-Up system, collaborating with YéO, a subsidiary of the dairy group Sodiaal, to extend its application to yogurt drinks.
The Pouch-Up solution has various advantages, Smurfit Kappa said: it’s lightweight, easy to use – especially thanks to its Original Vitop tap located on the outside – and perfectly adapted to use in yogurt drinks.
YéO’s La Fontaine à Yaourt product is a yogurt drink made of mixed strawberries, manufactured in France and packaged in Pouch-Up packaging. The innovative 1.5 litre packaging guarantees a shelf-life of ten days after opening and practical, economic consumption while also being eco-friendly. Smurfit Kappa said that the environmental impact of the Pouch-Up pouch was 40% superior to that of a plastic bottle.
YéO marketing director Sylvie Barniol said: “We can be innovative and pioneers on the yogurt market thanks to the Pouch-Up. This packaging suits the needs of the whole family and is user-friendly, convenient to use and eco-friendly – these are advantages that consumers value. The Pouch-Up allows us to differentiate our range of yogurt drinks.”
