In America, White Coffee has launched a brand of single serve coffees in environmentally responsible cups.
The coffee is packaged in the ‘BioCup’, which is completely biodegradable when aerobically composted, and is available in 11 flavours including Hazelnut, French Vanilla and Sea Salt Caramel. Jonathan White, the company’s executive vice president, said: “Our goal is to be the leader in the coffee industry in minimizing its environmental footprint.”
With their organic coffee, White Coffee are seeking to offer an environmentally responsible alternative to existing products in the single serve coffee marketplace. Market research firm Mintel has predicted that, by 2018, consumers in the US could spend as much on coffee pods as they do on bulk coffee.
Other flavours in the product line include Colombian, Peruvian, French Roast, Chocolate Morsel and Rainforest Blend. They can be used in conjunction with some of the country’s favourite coffee making machine brands, such as Keurig, Breville and Cuisineart.
The coffees are available in retail outlets throughout the US and are available in boxes of ten and eighty.
