Zevia lands deal with Whole Foods

Seattle-based natural cola company Zevia has landed a deal to be distributed in all 270 Whole Foods stores across the US.
The deal will help Zevia grow from $925,000 in revenue in 2008 to an expected $3m this year. The company has been steadily adding other natural food stores to its distribution list as well, from 1,300 total stores at the beginning of this year to 2,000 today.
Zevia, founded in 2007, hopes to continue its rapid growth pace this year by agreeing deals with mainstream supermarket chains and partnering with a major beverage distributor. Currently, a variety of natural products distributors work with the company.
Zevia cola is made with the sweetener stevia, which comes from leaves in a tropical rain forest and is seen as an alternative to sugar and aspartame.
